What We’ve Been Thinking About

Red flags to look for during interviews!
Our team at Mission Advantage recently finished reading Who, a hiring method for leaders to recruit, interview, and select A players. If you are responsible for hiring and have yet to read this book, I would highly recommend it! While the book outlines a very specific and intensive process to hire the right people, it also shares very practical tips to incorporate in your interview process to improve your success immediately. An example of this is the list of red flags to look for during interviews that indicate great potential risks.

Saint Martin de Porres diversity in hiring initiative
Effective June 15th, The Oxenham Group will begin the initiative by donating $500 to the Thurgood Marshall College Fund in the name of Saint Martin de Porres. We will continue to donate $500 for every high-paying professional placement we make in which a racially diverse pool of applicants has been interviewed by our client. The client has the opportunity to have the donation made in its name.

Coming Soon: more remote nonprofit work
Three-quarters of millennials say they would take a pay cut to work for a company that offered flexible hours. And, Deloitte recently found that millennials are much likelier to stay in a role for more than five years if their company is flexible about where and when they work. How will the nonprofit sector respond going forward?

Mission Advantage offering mock interviews to nonprofit talent during COVID-19
Mission Advantage Recruiting will be conducting 15-minute mock interviews every Friday for the foreseeable future. Our team will use behavioral questions to get candidates thinking about ways to articulate their inherent skills and professional aptitude. Our hope is to provide a valuable exercise to help nonprofit talent work out their interview jitters.
